Clinicians Reflect on CMI™
CMI practitioners share what they’ve observed in their client work, how the framework fits into their clinical practice, and the ways it has shaped their own understanding of healing.
A clinician's perspective on the CMI experience.
Watch this clinician share how CMI has influenced her work and supported deeper healing with clients.
”Not only have I seen changes with my clients, I have been able to feel a shift and healing taking place within myself. It has been wonderful having support from the CMI community as I make my own discoveries through learning to tune into my own needs, which benefits me as a clinician, as a parent and partner, and as a human being.
Holly C., LCSWIdaho
”Based off client experience, CMI is an effective protocol centered on a self-guided, explorative journey to core issues. This free-flowing technique has produced powerful results in my clients, many who are in treatment involuntarily. With CMI they have discovered that it’s “not about the constant noise” they hear (in their head) daily; it is about connecting to their CORE self. I am thankful to participate in this journey with the supportive people at ARISE. In this field, that is truly hard to come by.
Makame, LCSWTripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii
”I have observed rapid progress across various challenging cases, from single-incident traumas to long-term childhood abuse and it has been evident that CMI significantly accelerates the healing process. In this short period, I have noticed that long-term clients seem more ready to engage directly with the Sensory-Emotion Expansion phase, reaching integration sooner. Conversely, new clients appear to benefit most from following all CMI phases sequentially.
After 20 years in practice, I have always valued minimal guidance to facilitate emotional processing. However, adhering to CMI has provided a new perspective, allowing me to better support clients in utilizing their own agency and "riding the wave of discomfort" at their own pace.
I am grateful to add this efficacious tool to my practice. My experience using CMI with monolingual Spanish-speaking clients has also been wonderful. Contrary to my initial skepticism, it is working beautifully, proving that the foundational pillars of CMI reflect universal truths about the human experience.
¡Millón de gracias!

”CMI has been a great tool to assist my work in direct patient care. I find that my patients are more willing to embrace CMI because of its quicker access to one’s core self and core barriers. Separately, CMI has been a great foundation in my approach to psychedelic, ketamine, and TMS treatment. CMI is a meaningful complement to these other therapeutics. CMI just makes sense when I think about my philosophy in treatment. To truly heal, we need to go straight to one’s core self.

”From the bottom of my heart I really recommend for people to try this modality. For clients and clinicians, absolutely. For me it took everything I love about all the different things I got trained in over the years and put them together in a really digestible way for me too. I'm happy. I'm really happy I've been a part of this.
